For those of you that don’t know, I am the oldest of five in my family. It might be a surprise to most because as the oldest you are supposed to have all the answers and be the role model your siblings look up to, but my friends definitely see me more as the one seeking advice and not having any of the answers. That is because finally, here in Tri Delta, I am the one doing the looking up to. In our Tri Delta family, I have countless sisters who every day are there for me like an older sister, a role model.

For the first time, I have all the guidance I could ever want and more! There’s Nancy Welch who will always help me pick out an outfit, or tell me what jewelry looks best, even if we are both running late. There’s Kennedy, who keeps me up to date on my music. Whether it is a study playlist I’m looking for or songs to sing in the shower she has the perfect one. I have Bel who is constantly there to encourage my dumbest ideas. She even joins in on them most of the time, like when we dressed as boys to a function where every other girl there was dressed to their best. Then there is c-strom who lets us know if the ideas we have are actually funny or stupid. I can always count on her to give it to me straight no matter what it is. I could never forget about Meagan, who supports me in my every decision, especially if it includes a Melvin’s milkshake or a cookout quesadilla. There’s Abbie who will be the first to invite me to a pick up basketball game on the quad, or a walk on the dikes. I have Marlene to keep me in check after a stressful week by letting me know when I need to relax. Even if her idea of unwinding is blasting her stereo, screaming karaoke. Then there’s Lottie and Valorie who always include me in a game night, usually with the hilarious games they make on their own. There’s my big Sarah, who will drop whatever she is doing to recommend a class for me or tips on how to study. My sophomore year roommate will forever give me the best advice. Whether I ask for it or not, she knows me to a tee and always knows what to say. She continuously has my best interest at heart, and would help every person in our sorority before herself if it came down to it.

These are just a few of the sisters I have who direct and guide me on a regular basis. Here in Tri Delta we have a sisterhood that encourages you to be the best version of yourself. This support group is one of the many reasons why I am completely in love with our sorority. With all of these incredible women, I have not only become a better person, but an exceptional sister to my younger siblings. I will forever believe running home to these amazing women on bid day was the best thing to ever happen to me.
