Below, new member, Mackenzie Shannon shares her experience at her first stamping party as a Tri Delta. Every year the Beta Theta Chapter participates in a letter-writing campaign for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. We write letters to our closest friends and family asking for donations to help end childhood cancer. After we write and package all of our letters on our own, we come together to celebrate and stamp the letters at the Stamping Party.

Hey! My name is Mackenzie Shannon and I am in PC ‘21! This letter stamping party was such a fun event!! It took place at the Madren Center and all of Tri Delta was there, decked out in their best DDD gear. There were lights, streamers, and banners on the walls, as well as fun stamps and markers on the tables to decorate the letters!! The letters we write help raise awareness and donations for St. Jude and the amazing work they are doing for families. So amazing!

At the beginning of the event, a woman joined us on zoom to share her story with St. Jude. She told us about her son and the struggles he faced, and how when she traveled to St. Jude in Nashville, the people there made her and her son feel so comfortable and at home. It was so moving to hear the amazing things St. Jude was doing for families, and it made me even more excited to support this amazing cause.

We worked for over 2 hours, sticking on addresses and stamps, as well as decorating each letter with hearts or smiley faces. It was so fun to be able to get together with all my Delta sisters and work together towards such an amazing cause!! I cannot wait to see what other amazing opportunities Clemson Tri Delta will have to support St. Jude!
