Why Tri Delta #11

Written by: Lottie Smith, External Philanthropy Chair

There’s a million reasons why I went Tri-delt, but the best reason is finding my people. So Im gonna tell you about my funny friends. I couldn’t imagine Tri delt without laughing everyday with goofy gals. The best reason to go Tri-delta is to find your people.

You’ll find your Sidney, my partner in crime through every questionable decision. She leaves me with tears in my eyes and cramps in my stomach from laughing so hard every day. You’ll find your, Kate, my mini-me but way cooler. My down to earth little, rocks her space cats backpack and socks with her dogs faces on them daily. Kate hypes everyone up, whether its for a big function or we are waiting for our fried pickles to come out. If our lives work out they way we plan, we will live together on the west coast for plenty of our adult life. You’ll find your Val, the faithful game-day leader. She single-handedly makes for the best Saturdays and the best Scattegories partner a girl could ask for. You’ll find your Maggie, who belongs in her notorious Donald Trump costume while you dress as Dwight Schrute. Olivia, who will always be there for you. My perfect roommate of the past 2 years is leaving me for Spain for all of Junior year! Get yo’ self a roommate that lets you put pictures of Blake Shelton up in our room. Claire will sneak into death valley with you on your last night of freshman year and if the two of you are oh so lucky, you will leave without a police escort and blood dripping your legs. Kellen never fails to feed me a home cooked meal when I need one. Cat and EmJo are rocking it in Barcelona, sending the funniest snaps of Catherine teaching Spaniards of her hometown, Sumter, South Carolina. These girls will gather your friends at El Jim, week after week, to celebrate the birth of another sombrero wearing sister. Bel will plan the best Tri-Delt functions, if her and Caroline’s alter-ego Brad and Chad, the fraternity brothers, make an appearance then you know it’ll be a fun night. Betsy rolls down the hallway on her hover-board on the reg, you should listen to this girl rap Colt 45 by Afroman. Emma, the aspiring future wife of Pauly-D. Thank goodness I have someone to share my guilty pleasure, MTV Are You The One, with me each week. “Marqueen” is the life of the party, this girl and her karaoke machine are a package deal. Leah will remake a scene from the movie Stepbrothers with you on 9 hour drive down to Rosemary, Florida for spring break with all your best friends. She only teases me about my “northern” ways half the time. She fed me my first boil peanut and I fed Leah, her first poke bowl and avocado.

These are only a few of the 250 reasons why I love Tri-Delta so much. These 250 unique sista-friends are quirky, caring, smart, and fun-loving. There are no other people I would want to laugh my way through my 4 years at Clemson.
