Triple Play! The main reason I chose Tri Delta was because I thought that our philanthropy was incredibly cool. The idea of getting to raise money for sick children at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is just such an incredible opportunity.

Letter writing and Spike It for St. Jude were such fun and rewarding events to attend, but Triple Play was by far my favorite event all year! When the emails started getting sent around, it was pretty obvious to me that this event was a big deal. I signed up to help set up and on Sunday, I showed up 30 minutes before anyone else was supposed to with a few of my delta sisters. We started pulling out the supplies and decorations and setting everything up. Sundays are usually days filled with homework and studying for me so it was nice that Triple Play gave me a break from all of that for a few hours.

After sitting around and chatting for a while, the teams started showing up and so did the other Deltas! The shirts were ultra cute and we all put them on for the event. It was so cool to see guys from different fraternities so excited to play softball for a good cause. They appeared to be really into it and everyone had a great time. It was also super exciting to see some of our sporty Delta’s participate as well!

Of course, the food made the event 10x more fun because who doesn’t love some grilled hot dogs??? The weather started out a little chilly in the morning but within a few hours, it had warmed up to perfect baseball weather. For Triple Play, the music, the food, the weather, and the vibe from that entire day was just so happy and heart-warming (especially when Summer of ‘69 came on...A BOP)!! It was one of those days where I really enjoyed sitting there spending time with my best friends and sisters and just taking it all in. Also, knowing that this whole event raised so much money for our little St. Jude Children made everything so much more gratifying.

Triple Play was definitely a memorable day and it made me realize how passionate I am about our amazing philanthropy! I’m super excited to participate in this event for years to come and to share my memories about this event to the upcoming pledge class. Triple play you rocked!!!
