FYSAM 2018

Written By: Sophomore, Molly Park

FYSAM. The day every Tridelta at Clemson looks forward to all year. Being a sophomore, I remember how fun this function was last year. Going through rush, I talked to sweet Anna Taylor in Sisterhood Round about this function and I was never more excited to go Tridelta. For those who don’t know, “FYSAM” is Find Your Sister a Mister. Your sisters set you up with a guy and you wear their tie. Your date has to find the girl with his tie on to figure out his date! Fun right? Finding dates can be extremely stressful, especially when you want to make the night memorable, so this function is always an exciting one.

This month, when the date doc came out, butterflies filled my stomach with anticipation and I immediately started making a list for all my best friends and potential dates for them. We all put our trust in our sisters as they schemed and found the perfect dates for each other. It was the talk for weeks. I tried on probably 15 dresses until I found the perfect one (obviously the first I tried on lol) and waited for March 29th. I woke up that morning so excited and eager to find out who my date was that night. I forced myself to go to class and focus, but all I could think about was how I was going to do my hair and paint my nails. The night finally arrived and my friends and I took over a thousand pictures before our dates came. It felt like years as I spent forever walking around and waiting for a boy to see their tie on me. The suspense was real, but once we all found our dates, the night was one for the books.

On our way to the venue, all I could think about was the food. Yes, the food. The best part of every Tridelta function. We finally arrived and raced out the Uber to find the pizza, take pictures with Allen, the photographer, then danced our night away. My friends and I were on the dance floor the entire night requesting songs and trying not to break our ankles. Our dates swung us around shagging and we didn’t want to leave.

FYSAM was definitely a night to remember, spent with my best friends and sisters. It’s my favorite Tri Delta function of the year and I cannot wait to make new memories in the years to come. Until next year FYSAM. You will be dearly missed!
