Spring Break 2018
Written by: Catherine Kelly, VP of Administration
Sophomore year spring break was one for the books. I’ll never forget the 8-hour road trip to Rosemary Beach, Florida, to pile into one bright orange beach house with 13 of my Tri Delta sisters. The week was the perfect break from school, away from classes and homework and able to focus on having fun and being together.
Even on the not-so-sunny days, there was never a dull moment. The daytime consisted of laying on the beach or around the pool together, walking to the cute downtown coffee shops for breakfast, driving to the nearby town of Seaside for food truck lunches and the very best grilled cheese ever, and more. Nights included cards and game nights in, fajita night where everyone stayed in and cooked a huge meal together, and fun nights out dressing up and going to fancy nearby restaurants, only to accidentally order way too many appetizers and a few too many chocolate molten lava cakes.
Though our week was full of fun outings, hilarious games, and good food, the most meaningful part was the girls I got to spend it with. These girls are uplifting, entertaining, and most of all, a whole lot of fun. The weather wasn’t perfect and the trip wasn’t extravagant, but the girls I was with were what made it. I already miss our perfect little house and the grilled pimento cheese sandwiches, but being with my sisters was what made it the very best spring break ever.
