Why Tri Delta #5

Written by: Kenzie Semrau

Growing up at an all-girls school, being surrounded by a strong support system of young women has always been very important to me.  When I was accepted into Clemson my immediate reaction was pure excitement.  I couldn’t wait to step into the next chapter of my life as a Clemson tiger!  As August quickly approached and the girls who I called my family were all starting college at other schools, I quickly became nervous I wouldn’t be able to find that same relationship with people at such a big school like Clemson.

Going through recruitment changed my mindset completely. As soon as I walked into Tri Delta’s room I was instantly relieved because I knew right then I could find the family I wanted in this sorority.  Not only were the girls welcoming, but I could tell they were strong and confident in who they were.  As recruitment ended and I became a part of the Tri-Delta family, I knew my initial instinct of the girls pointed me in the right direction.  Since bid day, I have been constantly surrounded by strong, determined, young women who are passionate about everything they do.  These girls inspire and challenge me to be my best self on a daily basis.

Flash forward to almost a year from Bid Day and here I am, writing this blog post about why I love the sorority I never thought I would find.  The love that I have found for this group of girls has only made me so much more excited for what will come in the next few years. I know the two years I have left at Clemson will consist of late night study sessions in Cooper, cheering on our Tigers, and soaking up the sun on lake Hartwell.  The best part?  It will all be with the girls who I call my sisters.

Through the relationships I have formed I have found family and I am better off because of it.  I have grown as an individual, gained amazing friends I know I will cherish for the rest of my life, and made countless memories that will always remind me of Tri Delta.
