Why Tri Delta #4
Written by: Augusta Brook
If you know anything about me you would know that when I love something, I do it whole-heartedly. Whether it’s family, friends, a subject in school, or something I enjoy doing in my free time, if I love it then you will know it.
I was told high school would be the best 4 years of my life but once those years were over, I knew there was something even better ahead. I wanted something different and fun, something exciting and unfamiliar. Moving 5 hours away for school was all those things-the good and the bad. I was scared of meeting all new people, not knowing if I would ever feel that comfort I did with the friends I grew up. Going through recruitment, I felt a sense of immediate comfort every time I walked into the doors of Tri Delta. As soon as I set my heart on being a Tri Delta, there was no talking me down. I had whole-heartedly fallen in love with the people, the philanthropy, the camaraderie, and the intoxicating laughter I had experienced during those 4 rounds.
A lot of people may say bid day was the best day of college, but honestly, there are too many moments in Tri Delta that are so little and sometimes unnoticed that make my days at Clemson the best. The best part about this sorority is the myriad of people in it. There is something to relate to with anyone in this chapter, whether it’s finding out you’re distantly related to two girls you live with on the hall with or that your childhood best friend was everyone’s best friend growing up. The friendships I have made are ones hard to come by in life, and I love each one of them whole-heartedly. The girls I have met have seen me at my best and at my worst and love me unconditionally for it. They encourage you to be yourself and I think our Chapter prides itself on that. There’s a lot that people look for in college, like a future spouse (although honestly who isn’t) or a future job, but really the best treasure you will find are the friendships you will make in this chapter. You can be as weird or as normal as you want (I highly recommend being weird it’s so much more fun) and these girls will be just as weird or normal with you. From getting ready for hours for functions to getting ready for 15 minutes for movie nights, you’ll find everything you’re looking for and more as a Tridelta. I wouldn’t change a minute of being in this Chapter, and even though I’m halfway done, I already know these friendships won’t end at graduation.
