Why Tri Delta #1
Written by: Cat Kelley
When I went through recruitment, I felt like I knew very little about the sororities at Clemson and definitely didn’t have any particular sorority in mind. The immediate attraction Tri Delta held for me was how genuine and authentic each girl I talked to was. They were so fun and passionate about their sisterhood. Those are the reasons I chose Tri Delta, but it wasn’t until after I became a Tri Delta that I knew without a doubt that I had made the perfect decision. I was scared about my transition into college- mainly because I was sad to leave the behind friends that I had been with for 14 years. I can honestly say that because of Tri Delta, my transition was unbelievably easy and so much fun. From the very start, the girls reached out to me, inviting me to the sophomore rooms on the hall, taking me to dinner, inviting me to hang out, asking me about my classes, and offering any advice they could give. Not only were the older girls so quick to reach out and be my friend, but the girls in my pledge class were eager to reach out as well. Something I immediately noticed that set Tri Delta apart from other chapters was the constant desire to be together outside of sorority-related events. Because of this, we immediately all became best friends.
I was worried, like most girls are, about making new friends in college. If you had told me in August that by December I would be road tripping to the National Championship in Florida, going to Disney World, booking a flight to California, or crashing family vacations all with my new best friends in Tri Delta, I would not have believed you. Now, I have made best friends that I know will be in my wedding one day. I can’t put in words what Tri Delta means to me, but I can say that it has absolutely given me lifelong friends, and I cannot imagine freshman year without it being shaped by the girls of Tri Delta.
